RE: How do you pick stocks for day trade or long term?

sir INDO. based on my observation on the current market, buying
and selling are usually strongest during the first 30 to 45 minutes of
the market, weakens around 11pm and pace starts to picks up at around
2:30pm.

ang minomonitor ko during trading hours besides the price shempre is the

hihih much like shadow boxing where you don't really have an
opponent...practice practice lang...how old are you really kinky? hehehe</blockquote>

ah i see! bata pa akey, 16 lang! jowkkkkk!

Pag sinabi nila na paper gains, ibig sabihin you bought the shares
@15/share and the current market price is 16. So you have paper gain of
1/share.

In the same manner, pag sinabi na paper loss, ibig sabihin you bought
the shares @10/share and the current market price is 8.50/share. So you
have paper loss of 1.50/share.

Ang realized gain or loss only happens once you exit the stock. Using
the same example above, if you exited the trade at 16, the paper gain of
1/share will now become realized gain. If you exited the trade at 8.50
per share, the paper loss of 1.50/share becomes the realized loss. Yun
ang gain/loss talaga.

To add about the paper trading as what Com said, it is actually a simulation of the trade without betting money.

You get a paper and pen and let us say you want to buy Uncle stock like
ORE at the current market price of 3/share because you had a valid
reason like TA, FA or rumors etc.

BUY ORE 2,000 shares @ 3.00 = 6,000

You now observe the stock and it is moving upwards based on your reason
of buying. When you saw the price moved to 3.75/shares, you decided to
sell na because you had another valid reason (happy na sa gain, TA says
toppish, FA - na hit na target, tapos na rumors).

SELL ORE 2,000 shares @ 3.75 = 7500

This is what you called paper trading. You practice real time trading to
gain confidence without any worries/fear because you are trading no
real money but using just a paper and pen.

That is why tawag ni Com "imaginary gain and imaginary losses".

Once you gained confidence, when you trade in real life, ganun na din magiging decision mo kasi your mind is used to it na.

wala namang min. budget.

choices of stock mo at potentially mas maliit ang gains (pati losses).

it would be better kung ang titignan mong qualification ay knowledge & experience kaysa capital.

paper trading = demo trading

for new investors, IMHO hindi ok ang PCA.
i highly suggest pag aralan muna maigi ang stocks trading/investing bago mag employ ng 'strategies' like PCA.

just my view.

Should you buy once the resistance is broken or before pa ma break to?
Nalilito lang ako.. kasi diba mataas na iyong price by that time?

bumaba.

research about reversal of roles --> yung dating resistance pag

@Xandman
Is it possible to grow your money thru stocks by 20%pa.?
answer: yes, definitely, and below is the annual performance of the market from 2005-2011:
2005 15.0%
2006 42.3%
2007 21.4%
2008 -48.3%
2009 63.0%
2010 37.6%
2011 4.1%
As you can see, it's possible but there are risks (negative in 2008)
Over the long-run, from 1987 to present, the average compounded return of the market is around 14% p.a.

Why do we need amibroker/machtrader or similar softwares when pse.com.ph and the metrobank online site have the charts we need?
Answer: I don't have amibroker/machtrader but it has to with
functionality. pse.com has the worst functionality for a real chartist
(not friendly interface and functionality is very basic); your metrobank
online (probably like my COL) is geared more as a trading platform
rather than technical analysis -- again, not enough functionality for a
hardcore technician. On the other hand, if you're not that particular
about functionality (like me), then metrobank online would be enough,
just like COL is good enough for my purposes. I used to be a technistock
jock when i was an analyst but, now for personal purposes, they said
they would charge me 20k (or was it 30k) a month -- hirap kitain iyon sa
market sagot ko sa kanila.
